Itinerary

Itinerary

The trip, day by day

Our Namibia expedition is a journey through otherworldly landscapes: the minimalism of the red dunes of Sossusvlei, the textures of the lunar terrain of Damaraland and the wildlife of Etosha National Park.

On your arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH), our local team will be waiting to greet you.

We'll accompany you on a private transfer to The Weinberg, a boutique hotel that balances modern elegance with genuine African warmth.

Set into the hills, it offers panoramic views that are the perfect first note of inspiration.

Once you've settled in, the afternoon is yours: unwind, enjoy the hotel's facilities or savour a Namibian coffee.

We recommend easing into the journey and letting the jet lag fade.

As the afternoon draws to a close, we'll gather for a welcome briefing.

After an energising breakfast, we leave Windhoek behind and set course for Namib-Naukluft National Park, one of the largest reserves in Africa.

The road carries us through landscapes that shift by degrees, from stretches of low bush to the vast, desolate expanse of the desert.

We continue on to the iconic outpost of Solitaire, an oasis in the sand.

Here we'll pause to have lunch and photograph its famous graveyard of rusted cars, their weathered forms set against the desert's relentless light.

At last, we reach Sossusvlei Lodge for a sunset photography session among the dunes.

We set out from the lodge before dawn to reach the heart of Sossusvlei in time for first light.

As the day breaks, we make our way to Deadvlei, a cracked white clay pan that feels like another planet.

Here, the petrified skeletons of 900-year-old acacia trees rise against the breathtaking backdrop of the tallest red dunes in the world.

After an intense morning shoot, we return to the picnic areas for a well-earned rest and brunch.

Back at the lodge, there's time to relax, edit the morning's images or simply enjoy the pool.

As the afternoon fades, we head to the emblematic Dune 45.

In the low, raking light, the folds of the sand come alive, revealing dramatic textures and shadows.

After one last breakfast overlooking the landscape of Sossusvlei, we set off for Swakopmund.

The 400 km drive takes us across the vast plain of the Namib Reserve.

We'll stop at the fascinating Kuiseb Canyon and at the iconic Welwitschia mirabilis, an endemic, prehistoric plant that looks like something from another world.

Finally, we arrive at The Delight Hotel in Swakopmund, where we'll explore the town's German colonial architecture and its pastel-coloured façades.

In the morning, an urban photography session through the streets of Swakopmund.

In the afternoon, a 4x4 excursion out to Sandwich Harbour, where 100-metre dunes plunge straight into the Atlantic Ocean.

We'll focus on the surreal contrast of desert meeting sea and, with a little luck, photograph pink flamingos and black-backed jackals.

After breakfast, we head for Damaraland.

We'll stop at the rock engravings of Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the afternoon, we set out in search of the legendary desert-adapted elephants, along with giraffes, mountain zebras and antelope.

After an early breakfast, we make our way to Etosha National Park.

En route, we'll visit a Himba village for cultural portrait photography.

Sunrise and sunset safaris at the park's waterholes.

We'll be on the lookout for black rhino, black-faced impala, zebra, wildebeest and oryx.

In the afternoon, we explore the Etosha Pan, the vast salt flat that gives the park its name, perfect for minimalist landscape photography.

One final safari in Etosha before we head to the private Okonjima Reserve, a more exclusive setting with a strong conservation focus.

In the afternoon, we track leopards alongside expert trackers using radio telemetry.

A dawn safari in search of predators.

In the afternoon, we photograph white and black rhinos in the warm, raking light of sunset.

A farewell photographic safari before we return to Windhoek (4–5 hours).

Farewell dinner at the hotel.

One last breakfast at The Weinberg.

Private transfer to Windhoek International Airport (WDH).

With your memory cards full of photographs and the memory of a truly transformative experience, you'll board your flight home.
