Our photo tour of Churchill's "Pearl of Africa" begins with a search for the iconic shoebill, an inhabitant of the great swamps of central Africa and one of the most sought-after birds in the world. Next we head to the Kibale Forest in search of our closest living relative, the chimpanzee. Here we will walk the gentle slopes in search of these intelligent creatures.

The next leg of this journey will take us to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This vast reserve boasts stunning crater landscapes, vast savannahs, tropical rainforests and large herds of Elephants, Buffalo, Uganda Kobs, as well as the region's famous tree-climbing Lions.

Our incredible photographic journey ends with a visit to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to photograph the amazing Mountain Gorilla.

Reasons to visit Uganda

DESTINATION CHARM
Due to its location at the "crossroads" of the Central African rainforests and the East African savannah zone, it is home to a huge variety of primates, mainly the mountain gorilla and the chimpanzee, while the savannahs are home to the lion and even the leopard. Uganda as a whole boasts an impressive collection of birds, most notably the shoebill - a destination not to be missed!

HIKING IN SEARCH OF GREAT APES
Chimpanzee trekking - over the course of two chimpanzee treks and one habituation trek in Kibale National Park, we will have the opportunity to observe our closest ancestors in their daily activities. Mountain Gorilla Trekking - we will participate in 2 Gorilla treks in the beautiful Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and upon arrival at the Gorillas, we will spend a maximum of 1 hour with our designated family.

TREE-CLIMBING LIONS AND A GREAT DIVERSITY OF OTHER WILDLIFE.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to a wide variety of habitats and consequently has a huge list of mammals and birds. We will cruise the Kazinga Channel, famous for the huge aggregations of birds that line the banks along with buffalo, hippo and elephant, but we will stay in the Ishasha sector of the park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. The Isasha savannas are also home to other species, such as Uganda kob, topi, spotted hyena and leopard.
