During a series of private sessions, you will have the opportunity to meet and photograph locals as they herd Bactrian camels across the sands of southern Mongolia. You will also have the opportunity to witness a profoundly special event: a private viewing of the Golden Eagle Festival in Western Mongolia. DAY 1 (18-07-2023). ULAN BATOR

Upon arrival at ULN airport in Ulaanbaatar, you will be met by our guides and transferred to your hotel.

After a well-deserved rest, we will take a short tour of the city, including Chinggis Khaan Square and the National Museum of History.

You will spend the night in a beautiful hotel just a five-minute walk from the city's main square.

Accommodation is provided at the Hotel Ninean exceptional choice for your stay in Ulaanbaatar.

 

DAY 2 (19-07-2023). ULAN BATOR - YOL VALLEY

Today we embark on an exciting adventure into the vast and spectacular Gobi Desert. This journey will take us approximately 7 to 8 hours, during which we will immerse ourselves in the beauty of the Mongolian landscapes.

Once we arrive at our destination, and depending on the time, we might have the opportunity to enjoy our first exploratory session in the fascinating Yol Valley. This breathtaking place, also known as "Eagle Valley", offers us a unique view of nature and will allow us to immerse ourselves in the essence of Mongolia.

Lodging: Dungenee camp.

DAY 3 (20-07-2023). GOBI DESERT (KHONGOR DUNES)

In the morning, we will depart for the sand dunes of Khongor, a drive of approximately 2-3 hours. Upon arrival, we will settle into camp and enjoy a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, we will have the opportunity to enjoy a sunset photo session in the sand dunes. We will use a caravan of 2-3 camels to move around the dunes and find the best place to take the most impressive pictures.

In the evening, we will stay at the Gobi Erdene camp, a traditional tourist camp that offers an authentic experience of Mongolian culture and traditions. We will enjoy a typical dinner and spend the night in one of the gers, the traditional Mongolian nomad tents.

 

DAY 4 (21-07-2023). GOBI DESERT (KHONGOR DUNES)

We will get an early start to enjoy a sunrise photography session in the spectacular Khongor Dunes, which stretch for over 130 km. These dunes are one of the largest and most beautiful sandy areas in Mongolia.

During this photo session, we will have the opportunity to meet the camels and a local shepherd who will guide us through the dunes to capture the best pictures.

As we admire the first rays of light in the Gobi Desert, we can marvel at the breathtaking curves and majestic mountains on the horizon, which turn pink in the morning sun.

After the session, we will have free time to rest and enjoy the comforts of our camp.

In the afternoon, we will enjoy an unforgettable sunset on the dunes and have a night photo session under a starry sky.

We will stay at the Gobi Erdene camp, a ger tourist camp that offers an authentic experience of Mongolian culture and traditions. Here we can relax and enjoy the tranquility of the desert after a day full of adventures.

 

DAY 5 (22-07-2023). KHONGOR - BAYANZAG

We will start the day early so as not to miss the opportunity to capture the beauty of the sunrise over the Khongor dunes with our cameras.

After a comforting breakfast, we will depart for Bayanzag, also known as the "Cliffs of Fire" due to the intense red color they acquire at sunset.

This area is famous for its paleontological importance, as it was here that the world's first dinosaur eggs were found. In addition, Velociraptor fossils and eutherian mammals have also been discovered.

We will enjoy the sunset from vantage points that offer spectacular views of the burning cliffs.

We will spend one night at the Mongolian Gobi Tourist Camp, as the area is small and cannot be explored further on this trip.

 

DAY 6 (23-07-2023). BAYANZAG - ULAN BATOR

Today we will get up early to return by road to Ulan Bator (approx 8h).

Dinner at one of the local restaurants in town.

Lodging: Hotel Nine.

 

DAY 7 (24-07-2023). ULAN BATOR - ULGII FLIGHT

We will start early in the morning with an approximately three-hour commercial flight from Ulaanbaatar to the city of Ulgii (scheduled departure time is 5.50 a.m.).

Once in Ulgii, we will visit a Kazakh family to learn about their daily way of life and capture authentic photographs of the experience.

We will also have the opportunity to meet a group of hunters with eagles and enjoy a breathtaking sunset with the majestic mountains as a backdrop.

After sunset, we will return to the town of Ulgii in our Land Cruisers, the drive back to the hotel takes about an hour and a half on a gravel road.

We will stay at the Makhsum Hotel in the town of Ulgii to rest after an exciting day of adventures.

 

DAY 8 (25-07-2023). ULGII - KAZAKH FAMILY

Today is a day to relax and rest, without the need to get up early to see the sunrise. After a leisurely breakfast, we will head back to the same area to meet the Kazakh family.

What makes this day truly special is the private eagle festival that has been organized exclusively for our group. This festival is a showcase of the locals' commitment to preserving traditional Kazakh heritage. We will see Kazakhs on horseback in their dark coats and scarlet hats, while golden eagles flutter in their arms. This will be an incredible sight and a rare opportunity to see golden eagles up close.

We will have a group of 8-10 hunters with eagles, which will allow us to enjoy a variety of experiences and capture a multitude of photographs in different scenarios; if you wish, you can even let one of these majestic birds perch on your arm for a memorable photo.

After this impressive day, we will return to the Makhsum hotel in Olgii in our Land Cruiser (1-1.5 hours drive on gravel road).

You will be able to rest and relax after such an exciting day full of unforgettable experiences.

 

DAY 9 (26-07-2023). ULGII - HUNTERS WITH EAGLES

Today we will enjoy a day full of emotions organizing private sessions with a total of five eagle hunters in the foothills of the Altai Mountains.

The impressive sacred mountain Tsambagarav (4208m) will serve as a backdrop for our photographs. The location offers a 360 degree view with sharp rocky mountains on one side and majestic snow-capped mountains on the other.

In the evening we will return to our accommodation at the Makhsum Hotel.

 

DAY 10 (27-07-2023). ULGII - LAKE TOLBO

Morning of relaxation.

After a delicious lunch in the town of Olgii, we drive for an hour on a paved road to the beautiful Tolbo Lake, known for its deep blue waters and breathtaking panoramic views from a rocky lookout point.

Today we will have the company of two eagle hunters, for another opportunity to photograph the sunset with a person in the frame to give scale or even take a portrait in the last rays of warm light.

It will be a day of tranquility and contemplation of nature.

DAY 11 (28-07-2023). ULGII - ULAN BATOR

In the morning after breakfast we visit the museum of Bayan-Olgii province and the black market.

Lunch and in the afternoon we fly back to UB (departure time 16:15).

After landing at UB, transfer to the hotel.

DAY 12 (29-07-2023). ULAN BATOR - HUSTAI NP

After enjoying breakfast, we will depart for the impressive Terelj National Park, where we will visit the famous Turtle Rock, the beautiful meditation temple of Aryapala and the statue of Chinggis Khaan.

In the afternoon, we will return to Ulaanbaatar and you will have free time to shop or explore the city at your own pace.

In the evening, we will enjoy an exciting traditional music concert and a farewell dinner at a local restaurant in town.

After a day full of emotions and experiences, we will return to the comfortable Hotel Nine for a night's rest.

 

DAY 13 (30-07-2023). ULAN BATOR - END OF THE TRIP

Our drivers will take you to UB airport (ULN code).

You can choose any flight on this day, a private transfer will be arranged.

Participants may be at different levels of knowledge of the subject matter, so patience is required when explaining topics that are already in their domain. Each participant's area of photographing should be respected. No disrespect from a participant to another member of the trip or staff will be allowed.
